Head of Sustainability Strategy | Dubai, UAE

We are collaborating with a prominent bank in the region that is dedicated to advancing its sustainability initiatives. The role of the Head of Sustainability Strategy is important in shaping and executing the bank's sustainability framework. This position will require working closely with various business units to ensure that sustainability objectives are integrated with overall corporate goals, as well as formulating and implementing policies and procedures to achieve ESG targets. Additionally, this role will involve representing the bank within the broader sustainability community. Key Responsibilities:

1. Take charge in the creation and execution of the bank's sustainability strategy.
2. Partner with business units to ensure sustainability efforts are aligned with corporate goals.
3. Formulate and implement policies and processes that support ESG objectives.
4. Provide training and resources to enhance sustainability knowledge across all staff levels.
5. Act as the bank's representative in external engagements related to ESG and sustainability.
6. Manage the daily operations of the sustainability division, including reporting on data and partnerships.
7. Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and sustainability standards across the GCC region.
8. Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives in driving business performance.

1. Education: Master’s degree in a sustainability-related discipline or a Bachelor’s degree in finance, energy, or a related field.
2. Experience: 9 to 13 years of substantial experience in developing sustainability strategies within a large banking organization.
3. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and foster cross-functional collaboration.
4. Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the financial, commercial, and regulatory landscape.
5. Strong familiarity with diverse aspects of sustainability, including environmental management and strategic planning within financial institutions.
