Journeyman Electrician

This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Overview

Under supervision of Master Electrician, this position involves installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, operating, and maintaining electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining power to telecommunications equipment and ensuring the facility’s electrical distribution system is in good repair. Electrical work experience includes installation in commercial and industrial categories. Compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) 2008 for repairs and upgrades, and NEC 2011 standards for new construction is required.

1. Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, operates, and maintains electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment.
2. Performs operations and maintenance duties to maintain power to telecommunications equipment and maintains the facility’s electrical distribution system.
3. Ensures compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:
• Education/Certifications: One year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education if a degree is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Must possess a Journeyman Electrician license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a host country driver's license.
• Experience:
• Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of work experience in the electrical wiring industry.
• Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of Electrical Codes.
• Ability to manage multiple job sites and priorities.
• Effective communication and interaction skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with safety regulations.
• Basic computer skills.
• Working Conditions:
• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Indoor and/or outdoor environment with adverse conditions.
• Physical Requirements:
• Light work, with potential for heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
• Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
