Job Purpose Develop and administer Technical Engineering plans and programs to facilitate out-of-gauge cargo movements, either ad hoc or as part of a longer project in line with business strategy and objectives, guidelines and policies. Typical Business Titles Project Engineer Differentiator • Subject matter expert who applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience • Manage projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision • Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex Key Tasks • Develop and administer Technical Engineering plans and programs to facilitate out-of-gauge cargo movements, either ad hoc or as part of a longer project • Generate visualizations of proposed solutions in CAD software • Develop and formulate technical work packages, including engineering design and analysis related to out-of?gauge cargo transportation and handling. • Prepare technical documents to support bid responses • Perform review and validation of subcontractor plans, method statements and heavylift manuals • Research and evaluate development of new products and procedures and assist in laying out project specifications • Attend client meetings to convey technical concepts and designs • Follow industry standards and best practices for handling and transportation of cargo • Prioritize and coordinate all necessary engineering work and ensure company standards Stakeholders • Connect with and influence other specialist departments and 3rd parties e.g. external service providers • May convince others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches • Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees Management Responsibility • Individual contributor without direct responsibility for leading others • May direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs • Coach and review the work of lower level professionals Skills Technical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering, AutoCAD, Lift Planning, Specialized Transportation, Cargo Securement Design, Detailed Engineering, Documentation, Technical Writing, Communication, Problem Solving, First Choice, Industry Trends, Data Analysis, Computer Science, DPDHL Business Knowledge, Project Management, Stakeholder Management, Influencing, Feedback, Quality & Detail Focus.
