Duties

  • You will test shipboard electronic system upgrades or conversions to determine compliance within operational standards.
  • You will facilitate resolution of problems that arise during the planning and execution cycles of ship projects.
  • You will create reports to recommend changes in integrated ship systems or related equipment.
  • You will analyze and document the performance of ship systems during selected restriction availabilities.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate qualifying experience demonstrating the following: 1) Providing technical engineering services in support of major shipboard propulsion systems and equipment on ocean-going ships; 2) Identifying significant aspects, causes and corrections of problems with shipboard propulsion systems; 3) Preparing technical reports documenting the repair, overhaul, testing and grooming of shipboard propulsion systems. Education

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
