Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) is seeking a farms veterinarian to join their team at Hamilton in Waikato, New Zealand . The ideal candidate must have the ability to thrive in a dynamic role working closely with 1000 elite artificial breeding bulls. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and their team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range from $100,000 – $115,000 per year. Applicants must have at least 2 years of clinical experience as a farm veterinarian.

Qualifications for Farms Veterinarian:

  • Candidate must hold a bachelor degree in veterinary science (BVSc).
  • Must have at least 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions affecting farm animals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with farmers, farm workers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to educate and advise clients on animal health and management practices.

Responsibilities for Farms Veterinarian:

  • Provide emergency care and treatment for acute illnesses and injuries.
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and diseases in farm animals.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all animals treated.
  • Prepare reports on herd health, treatment outcomes, and management recommendations.
