Summary Grand Hyatt Kuwait is looking for a passionate, creative, and dynamic Director of Operations with a strong background in luxury Food and Beverage. The hotel features 302 luxury rooms and suites, four world-class F&B venues, and the largest conference and convention facilities in the city. The role aligns with candidates who appreciate delivering high-end and bespoke guest experiences while ensuring the efficient running of all aspects of operations in line with hotel strategies and brand standards. As a member of the Leadership Committee, the Director of Operations is a highly visible role and reports to the hotel General Manager. The Director of Operations will directly oversee all hotel and Residences services.

Duties include:

  1. Responsible for short and long-term planning and the management of hotel and residences operations in the front and back of the house.
  2. Develop and recommend the budget and objectives for all operating departments and then managing within those plans once approved.
  3. Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance the guest experience, colleague experience, or position of property within the market.
  4. Monitoring all standards and operating procedures for all operating departments.
  5. Analyzing rate variances, monitoring credit reports, and maintaining a close observation of daily house counts to maximize hotel revenues.
  6. Coordinating major projects such as renovations, capital expenditures, and equipment changes.
  7. Conducting operations meetings including monthly financial review with hotel leaders.
  8. Supporting revenue & occupancy forecasting and monitoring labor expenses accordingly through schedule approval process.
  9. Hiring managers & training subordinate managers and colleagues.
  10. Coaching and counseling employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures.

Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  2. 5 years or more of progressive hotel operations experience in a leadership role.
  3. Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills.
  4. Proven leadership skills.
  5. Hotel/Hospitality degree is an asset.
  6. Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service, and ability to improve the bottom line.
  7. Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  8. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  9. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
