The incumbent will lead the Dispatch Department to effectively drive client satisfaction, and employee relations. This process and people-focused leader will support the labour relations strategy of the organization. Knowledge of standard industry practices, including dispatching, invoicing, contract negotiation, operations, safety management, business management, and commercial leadership.Or 4-7 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain or Dispatching Supervisory positions.Knowledge of the Canada Shipping Act and Associated Regulations. Graduate Certificate level qualification in Labour Relations, Employee Relations, or CPHR designation.Knowledge of collective bargaining, grievance management, dispute resolution, policy development, and practice management.Excellent written and spoken English High-level communication including active listening and reframing Complex Emergency Management experience Incident Command, Designated Person, Authorized Representative qualification.Must be able to travel within Canada by air.Must be legally allowed to work in Canada. Must have a valid BC Driver's License. Some of the Job functions for this role will be: Oversees the daily/weekly/monthly work schedules assigned by the Dispatch Supervisors & makes adjustments and suggestions as needed regarding activity volumes, sickness, and personal needs to contribute to personnel management related to the fulfillment of the strategic allocation of resources, company objectives, labour efficiency, productivity, and utilization.Monitors crew capacity and availability to meet service needs and organizational requirements to improve operating standards while maintaining compliance with regulation, policy, and collective agreements.Provides guidance and support to Payroll relating to crew work and time claims to guarantee accurate payment with adherence to the collective agreement. Supervises the scheduling of SHEQ-related processes with the SHEQ Officer and Operations Superintendents to ensure best SHEQ practices are followed and intended targets are reached. Develops and actions fact-based decision making based on KPIs and other decision support tools using costeffective measurements to contribute to the business goals and growth. Collaborate with other managers to develop policy, process, practice, and assessment criteria to enhance crew and dispatch performance to contribute effective leadership to the operations department in the best interests of SAAM Towage.Reacts to change productively to undertake other tasks and responsibilities as assigned and look after the company’s best interest. Proven experience in marine operations and how it intersects with labour relations, operating budgets, and data analysis to achieve the best possible outcomes for the organization at large.
