Synnapex Inc., a leading provider of technology professional services and hardware solutions, seeks a highly experienced and results-driven Strategic Operations Director to join our growing team.As our Strategic Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in refining and expanding our operations in the smart building and smart community sectors. Reporting directly to the President demands outstanding leadership and team-building skills. Your strategic insights will be crucial in guiding our company to grow and excel in the smart building division. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive product line growth, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure the delivery of superior customer service. You will be committed to bringing the best value to our clients and partners.Primary Responsibilities:Leads and directs all aspects of operations for Synnapex's smart building division;Spearheads the transition from third-party OEM offerings to our branded product line;Develops Synnapex's smart building division by formulating and implementing value propositions that expand current business and cultivate new opportunities;Collaborates with the President to build Synnapex's outsourced Chinese manufacturing supply chain network to ensure seamless integration of suppliers, logistics, and manufacturing processes for cost efficiency;Plans product line refinements and improvements based on market trends and organizes the team to analyze current product offerings for smart homes and smart communities, including IoT technology, home monitoring, and security products;Actively leads the evaluation of potential Chinese tech product manufacturing partners and conducts due diligence on their quality assurance, innovation, and production capabilities;Establishes manufacturing partnerships, supply chain management processes and policies;Oversees and guides the resolution of product and technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction;Coordinates the critical activities of direct reporting, delegates tasks and goals, and ensures that all operational objectives are achieved on schedule;Develops and oversees the annual departmental budget, ensures efficient budget allocations, and justifies any discrepancies or variances;Implements continuous improvement initiatives for operational workflows to enhance productivity;Provides consistent feedback to middle managers and team members from the division through departmental meetings, performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and developmental initiatives;Collaborates with cross-functional department leaders to streamline workflows, resolve operational challenges, and align operations with overarching business strategy and objectives;Establishes partnerships with tech product manufacturers in China, negotiates favourable terms and pricing, and represents Synnapex in contract discussions.Skills and Experience Required:Master's degree in business administration, international trade, or a similar field;10+ years of experience in senior operations management for tech and hardware-related product manufacturing;Proficient in the intricacies of outsourcing manufacturing operations to China, including navigating regulatory frameworks, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing logistical processes for cost-effectiveness and quality assurance;Extensive expertise and business networks in international outsourcing, manufacturing from China, warehousing, logistics, purchasing, inventory forecasting and management, and plant facilities evaluation;Strong leadership skills with the ability to build cohesive teams, collaborate across departments, provide mentorship, and effectively manage personnel;Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese is a strong asset but not a requirement;Proficient in ISO, ERP, SaaS, Six Sigma and Microsoft Office Suite;Excellent strategic, analytical, organizational, and prioritization abilities;Demonstrated ability to navigate complex problem-solving situations and make well-informed decisions to achieve optimal outcomes;Experience interfacing with high-level executives, clients, and agencies.Location:This position is based in person at our office at 95 Mural Street, Suite 201, Richmond Hill, ON L4B 3G2.Compensation:This is a Full-time, permanent position 37.5 hours per week.
