Mechanical Design Engineer Kempston, Bedfordshire £55,000 - £65,000 Permanent Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a new challenge? Our client is seeking a skilled individual to work with brand new systems for engines and power train systems, as well as modifications to existing designs. Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop design solutions based on initial briefs by creating layouts and verifying them through calculations, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques where appropriate.
  • Produce manufacturing drawings, including assemblies and specifications for the final design.
  • Control product realization, including manufacturing aspects, to achieve the most effective design.
  • Define and manage product build definitions to ensure the component database remains accurate.
  • Authorize engineering changes and concessions for nonconforming products.
  • Manage in-service product safety incidents, including risk analysis and production of closing reports.
  • Investigate in-service product failures and create failure reports
Mechanical Design Engineer Experience
  • Hold a first degree in an Engineering subject or possess 3 years of relevant experience in rotating or heavy engineering products.
  • Have experience with 2D and 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD). Familiarity with AutoCAD and Inventor design software is desirable but not essential.
