Seeking Board Members for New Zealand International Commercial Pilots Academy (NZICPA)

Whanganui, New Zealand Reference: 6655424 Expressions of Interest are invited from suitably qualified individuals for appointment as board members of the New Zealand International Commercial Pilots Academy (NZICPA). The NZICPA is a pilot training academy, primarily for international students and some domestic students. The purpose and the objective of the Board is to achieve profitability and demonstrate a viable future for the academy. Responsibilities of board members will include:
  1. Business recovery and reset, including innovation and investment
  2. Astute financial management, including cost control and analysis
  3. Securing a continuous and varied pipeline of students
  4. Operational excellence across flight training and student care
  5. Shareholder relations and ensuring shareholder trust and confidence
We are looking for energetic commercially savvy directors to drive the future growth and sustainability of the company. All members will need to have core governance experience and skills, including a sound understanding of the governance operating model, along with health and safety governance. Ideally board members will bring a range of specific skills and experience, in particular commercial experience (e.g.: business start-up or turnaround), significant experience in the aviation sector and experience in the education sector. Applicants should be aware there will be an expectation and requirement to complete work outside of scheduled meetings to undertake due diligence of business cases and such like.
