We are a market leader in the Rental & Transport Industry offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, well-organised person to lead our Manawatu team, based in Palmerston North. Cross Country Rentals is more than just a rental company having a wide range of vehicles in the fleet and providing specialised transport services. We are a kiwi, family-owned and operated company with branches throughout New Zealand. Transporting people is extremely important to us, taking students to and from school. Supporting our local community is a big part of what we've been doing for almost 100 years! Our fleet has grown rapidly comprising over 2000 vehicles nationwide, from small cars to large trucks and everything in between. Cross Country Rentals operates 7 days a week, so some weekend work will be required. The role:
- Managing the day-to-day branch operation.
- All aspects of staff management including recruitment and performance.
- Delivering operational excellence to provide exceptional service to our customers.
- Leading a small team to succeed through a positive team culture.
- You'll be a natural in running a successful operation to build strong customer relationships.
- Optimising fleet utilisation and availability.
- Ensuring vehicles are well-maintained and compliant with all safety and regulatory standards.
- You'll thrive in a harmonious and fun working environment.
- Proven experience leading people in a fast-paced environment.
- Business savvy and commercial awareness.
- Professionalism to build long-term business relationships.
- Proficient computer skills and a willingness to adapt to new technology.
- A passion for delivering a high level of customer service.
- A pleasant personality and team player.
- Experience with RCM is an advantage.
- Full NZ Driver's License; Class 2 preferred but we'll help you along the way to obtain.
- A sound knowledge of and experience with modern vehicles.
