Job Description Job Summary The Civil Infrastructure Inspector will ensure the Contractors are compliant with the contract documents, coordinate on a daily basis with other teams to document and verify the HSE, quality and quantity of work performed by the Contractor. As well as processing incoming Inspection Requests and technical submittals and perform the necessary actions. Job Duties

  1. Be familiar with the project’s contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures together with any associated updates.
  2. Have sound knowledge and experience in relevant Ministry of Works and Authority construction standards.
  3. Ensure the contractor/s compliance with the standards and specifications of the contract documents.
  4. Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
  5. Liaise and daily follow up with the contractor. This is to ensure the contractor is managing its resources, health and safety, and equipment needs on the site.
  6. Prepare daily report to the RE or the ARE. This includes works orders, materials delivery, maintaining records of the contractor manpower and equipment daily resources, and daily inspections programme.
  7. Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and ARE.
  8. Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
  9. Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the RE or ARE for pipes alignments and levels.
  10. Co-ordinate and co-operate with Ministry of Works or similar Authority staff during their site inspections in or without the presence of the RE or ARE as necessary.
  11. Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain relevant records.
  12. Assist the ARE and RE in the preparation of any correspondences in compliance with the contract documents.
  13. Where site problems are found, work with the RE or ARE to resolve them promptly.
  14. Monitor the start-up, commissioning and handover of the site works.
  15. Maintain records of materials tests performed and executed works.
  16. Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans.
Specific Skills Required
  1. Well experienced in the construction of filling and road works, pressurized and gravitational wet service networks including deep gravity sewer (DGS) shafts, chambers and manholes, construction experience of MV and LV electrical substation and networks are a bonus.
  2. Experience in working on landscaping projects on civil engineering elements.
  3. High level of critical thinking skills.
  4. High level of numerical skills.
  5. Strong English communication skills.
  6. Must have ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc.

Qualifications
  1. Diploma in Civil Engineering or similar.
Experience
  1. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in infrastructure type projects is required, candidates must have experience in construction or construction supervision with similar job duties.
  2. Middle East experience will be an advantage, local transfer in Bahrain preferred.
Additional Comments
  1. Working in Bahrain.
  2. Possession of valid driver’s license.
