SUMMARY: The Business Development Manager is responsible for increasing revenue/gross profit and market share while developing ongoing relationships with new and existing customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Utilize market data and develop sales strategies to increase SILVER/GOLD/PLATINUM/DIAMOND customer base.
  2. Maintain a thorough knowledge of products and services offered by the company.
  3. Travel throughout assigned territory to meet with regular and prospective customers.
  4. Develop and maintain strong business relationships.
  5. Provide pricing, credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  6. Identify opportunities to streamline customer supply chain activities and procedures, including identifying cost-saving opportunities for the customer while maximizing account profitability.
  7. Undertake formal and informal business reviews with the customer and appropriate Head of Department.
  8. Engage with Air & Ocean freight management and operational teams to understand general and client-specific issues.
  9. Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for new business generated, and manage the implementation of new business into the operational department.
  10. Provide activity reports and sales plans through the company’s CRM platform.
  11. Utilize the company’s CRM platform to enhance sales activity, such as sending sales leads and quotations.
  12. Participate in aggressive sales and skills training.
  13. Adhere to all requirements outlined in the Sales Policy and KPIs set.
  14. Promote the JAS Forwarding brand name in the market.
  15. Align with the company’s Credit Management Policy and ensure AR collections are met.
  16. Other duties as may be assigned.
  17. Achieve the agreed monthly/quarterly/annual growth targets (for key account list).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Nil QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Professional image, polished presentation.
  2. Strong relationship-building and negotiating skills.
  3. High energy and results-oriented.
  4. Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Excellent client/management presentation skills.
  7. Ability to work under pressure.
  8. Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Diploma/Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration/Logistics, or equivalent.
  2. 4-6 years of applicable business development/sales experience providing solutions in Ocean & Air Freight Forwarding.
  3. Ability to understand clients' Freight Forwarding challenges and structure effective solutions.
  4. Valid Driving License.
  5. Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM).
