For AbbVie to lead the industry in this environment, it is vital that our US Market Access (USMAx) Strategy and Pipeline Team thoroughly comprehend the current and future state of the evolving U.S. healthcare space and market access channels.The Director, USMAx Pipeline, Neuroscience and Eyecare will lead the team responsible for U.S. market access strategy development for early pipeline priority assets within the broad AbbVie Neuroscience and Eyecare portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US private and public payer segments to bring the voice of U.S. payers to our early drug development process. The candidate can think strategically and critically, build strong and trusting relationships for cross-functional influence, and represent US Market Access in pipeline governance and business development discussions.Lead USMAx Pipeline Strategy Team responsible for the creation of Integrated Asset Strategies, Disease Area Strategies and Early Integrated Value Propositions within the AbbVie Neuroscience and Eyecare Portfolio.Inform Clinical Development Programs such that endpoints and evidence generation plans are incorporated to support optimized patient access.Ensure Team resource needs are met and allocate budget and asset assignments across the team to meet critical enterprise goals for Pipeline assets.Develop talent by setting challenging but achievable goals, developing key capabilities, and providing timely and effective feedback.Support the team as they inform early asset development through early Touchpoints focused on market access evidence requirements.Engage with senior leaders on critical business development opportunities by driving assessment of pricing and access strategies.Provide TA leadership representing USMAx Pipeline as a single point of contact for BU Heads.Contribute critical strategic thinking to inform access and pricing assumptions.Work closely across USMAx Teams to stay close to channel customer dynamics and priorities.QualificationsProven ability to influence without authority and navigate complex organizational systems required.Deep subject matter expertise relevant to commercial and government payers is required.People leadership experience and leading through organizational change preferred.8-12 years of US market access experience preferred.Experience in leading primary and secondary payer research projects.Knowledge of government contracting, acquisition trends, and customer buying behaviors.Experience in Pipeline development and/or Market Access launches.Strong strategic thinking and communications skills.Strong financial acumen.Additional InformationApplicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law:The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.This job is eligible to participate in our short-term and long-term incentive programs.AbbVie is committed to operating with integrity, driving innovation, transforming lives, serving our community, and embracing diversity and inclusion.
