Job Summary: The Oracle Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience with Oracle database management, demonstrating a solid understanding of database administration and installation. Key Responsibilities: Database Installation and Configuration:
- Install and configure Oracle database software on various platforms (Linux, Unix, Windows), ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Implement and maintain Oracle software and patches, including upgrades and migrations.
- Configure and manage Oracle database options and features based on business requirements.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and recovery.
- Implement and manage security measures, including user access controls and data encryption.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues related to performance, connectivity, and data integrity.
- Develop, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies.
- Conduct regular backup drills to ensure data can be restored quickly and accurately in case of failures.
- Analyze and optimize database performance using tools and techniques such as SQL tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Monitor system metrics and resource usage, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Provide technical support for database-related issues, working with other IT teams to resolve problems.
- Maintain and update documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with application developers and other IT staff to support database-related development and operations.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand database needs and provide solutions.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with a focus on installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Oracle Database versions (Oracle 19c).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, and Data Guard.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
