Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grants and Resource Development Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing and a proven track record of successfully securing funding through grant applications. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding from government agencies, foundations, and other sources. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments within the organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources.
  • Write clear, compelling, and well-organized grant proposals that align with the organization’s goals and funding requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of all proposals.
  • Collaborate with program managers, finance, and other relevant staff to gather necessary information and data for grant applications.
  • Prepare budgets and financial reports to accompany grant proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funder requirements.
  • Maintain records of grant submissions, including tracking the status of applications and reporting on outcomes.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with funders, staying informed about their priorities and guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to update stakeholders on grant progress and outcomes.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all grant agreements, including meeting reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new opportunities in grant funding.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Grant Writer with a successful track record of securing funding.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience with budget preparation and financial reporting.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate potential funding sources.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using grant management databases and software.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience writing grants for nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, or healthcare.
  • Familiarity with the specific requirements and guidelines of major grant funders, including government agencies and large foundations.
  • Knowledge of program evaluation and outcome measurement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with funders and stakeholders.
  • Experience with fundraising strategies beyond grant writing, such as donor cultivation and corporate sponsorships.
