Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a well-established business group in Dubai, UAE. Our client is looking to hire an experienced Manager for their Farm and Agricultural projects who will be committed to the farm's success using the Hydroponic farming system. The manager's responsibilities include monitoring staff, crops, and livestock, purchasing supplies, preparing budgets and reports, and ensuring maximum profit for Hydroponics farming. You should be able to maintain professional networks and keep abreast of developments in agricultural science.

Responsibilities

  1. Analyzing existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
  2. Conduct day-to-day farm operations in relationship to crop production. Field responsibilities include, but are not limited to soil preparation, planting, harvesting, weed, pest and disease management, livestock management, equipment maintenance and repair, etc.
  3. Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understands expectations.
  4. Document and ensure proper documentation of staff of field operations, research data collection needs, financial accounting, and maintain production records on a regular basis.
  5. Visiting the different divisions to inspect crops, livestock, and also perform tests on soil and water.
  6. Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
  7. Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery. Operate equipment safely and train staff on safe equipment operation (tractors, tractor implements, small engine equipment, and hand tools) in a safe and efficient manner.
  8. Handling the marketing and sale of products produced on the farm like fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain.
  9. Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations.
  10. Support educational and outreach activities through field tours and presentations when necessary.
  11. Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports.
  12. Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.
  13. Support the research team in creating field experiments and completing field activities; some field data collection will be required.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, or equivalent.
  2. Additional courses in business management or administration are recommended.
  3. Extensive managerial experience in a farming-related field.
  4. A passion for agriculture.
  5. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  6. The ability to make decisions in stressful environments.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Flexible in hours as farm work can be unpredictable.
