Profile Principal Naval Architect

Are you an experienced Naval Architect looking to lead complex offshore projects? Would you like to apply your knowledge to large-scale offshore operations?

- We are looking for a Principal Naval Architect to lead the design, analysis, and implementation of marine operations and offshore projects while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring the performance and safety of vessels.

- Tasks & responsibilities:

Analyse vessel performance and prepare load and design inputs for projects.

Support and advise the crew during project execution.

Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, crew, clients, and certification authorities.

Mentor and support junior engineers.

Conduct multi-body analysis of marine operations, including workability, CFD, and mooring.

Perform stability analysis for crane vessels, transportation barges, submerged structures, and other vessels.

Conduct quayside mooring and vessel-to-vessel mooring analysis.

Carry out project-specific tasks such as DP capability analysis and positioning footprints.

Perform longitudinal strength calculations and loadout engineering.

Conduct transportation analysis and design input for grillage, seafastening, and sailability limits.

Handle towing engineering, including tug selection and mating impact analysis.

Prepare workability forecasts and develop loading manuals and onboard computer programs for class approval.

Draft parts of vessel operation manuals.

Supervise and review external engineering work; investigate and propose modifications.

Prepare technical specifications for the construction, conversion, or modification of vessels and barges.

Provide engineering assistance for ship repair and dry-docking.

Conduct design, weight, loading, and cost calculations for vessels and barges.

Requirements Principal Naval Architect

Relevant Engineering degree (MSc) in Naval Architecture, Marine, or Offshore Technology.

Minimum 7 years of experience in offshore installation.

Experience leading and mentoring other engineers.

Strong analytical skills and technical ability.

Professional, curious attitude with a flexible and collaborative approach to designs, changes, and developments.

Ability to communicate effectively and with impact.

Advanced computer skills and knowledge of relevant software (e.g., AQWA, Ansys Fluent/CFX, Orcaflex, Shipshape, Matlab, GMoor, DPCap, MS Office).

Comfortable working in a team environment, with a high sense of responsibility.

Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
