R&D Test Technician

Mission The purpose of the R&D Test Technician is to support the R&D team with preparation and operation of test in a safe and timeous manner and maintain the equipment in the State-of-the-Art testing facility. Qualifications Matric Welding Qualification Knowledge & Experience Mechanical experience. Technical experience or education of a technical nature. Electronic experience - reading of schematics, soldering. Competencies Self-managing; works well under little supervision. Highly motivated and enthusiastic. Academically inclined with an eagerness to continuously learn and develop knowledge. Confidence to question and verify information. Good interpersonal skills - customer focused. Able to work comfortably in a high-paced environment. Able to manage a small team of lab technicians and assistants. Good communication skills, Comfortable with public speaking. Successfully interact with all organisational levels. Ability to assess priority levels and respond accordingly. Responsibilities Assist in the fabrication of samples and concept. Operate testing equipment in accordance with the defined methodology. Maintenance of the testing equipment and facilities Task allocation and administrative management of team personal Arc and gas cutting. Assembly of machines. Operating cold circular saw. Operation of hand tools. Operation of power tools. Interpretation of engineering drawings. Operating production equipment. Operation of R&D testing equipment. Housekeeping of Engineering operational areas. Ensuring engineering tool are adequately maintained. Ensuring material and spares required to perform the work is correct.
