The Opportunity We are truly excited to be working with a long-standing player in waste management and the circular economy industry who are looking to expand their footprint here in Ireland. The Commercial Manager role offers a unique opportunity to lead the commercial development of the organisation in Ireland, with potential career growth into a larger global role . The Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation and driving its success in the solvent recovery market. A key aspect of the role will be proposing and implementing a commercial strategy, developing relationships with potential customers, and negotiating multi-year supply contracts. 12-month initial contract with a view to longer-term. Flexibility for a reduced working week and remote work which may suit consultants in this space. Would you like to be a part of something that will significantly change the landscape of the solvent recovery market? Profile: The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor industries in Ireland, as well as market dynamics and industrial processes. The candidate will possess an extensive network at senior levels within companies in these sectors. A strong technical background in pharmaceuticals with a transition into a sales/commercial role is preferred. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess the current market for solvent recovery in Ireland and identify growth opportunities - identifying and engaging new customers, collaborating with the Technical Project Manager during the construction phase, and supporting the ramp-up of operations.
  2. Identify potential talent for recruitment in Ireland and evaluate the export market potential in the UK and Continental Europe.
  3. Lead the commercial strategy and development efforts for the organisation in Ireland.
  4. Identify and engage new customers in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor industries.
  5. Liaise with the Technical Project Manager during construction and operational ramp-up phases.
  6. Identify and recruit potential talent in Ireland.
  7. Evaluate the export market potential for solvent recovery in the UK and Continental Europe.
  8. Develop and propose a comprehensive commercial strategy to senior management.
  9. Establish and nurture relationships with potential customers as well as the existing customer base.
  10. Negotiate and secure multi-year supply contracts with customers.
  11. Provide insights and feedback to senior management regarding market trends and opportunities.
The Person:
  1. Extensive knowledge of the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor industries in Ireland.
  2. Strong understanding of market dynamics and industrial processes.
  3. An established network at senior levels within relevant industries.
  4. Proven experience in a commercial or sales role, ideally with a technical background in the pharmaceutical sector.
  5. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful commercial strategies.
  6. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  9. Willingness to travel as required.
