About the Job: An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technician to join the Engineering team at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

Supporting to set up the function and role during Pre-Opening phase

Working closely between the Hotel and our Residences to support any operational needs

Implementation of the Plant & Equipment planned maintenance programme

Implementation of the Guest Room planned maintenance programme

Implementation of induction, health & safety, SOP and other training programmes

To supervise and direct colleagues in the performance of their duties

To monitor work requests and ensure promptness of service with particular emphasis on guest areas

To carry out quality assurance spot checks on colleagues' work

To liaise with specialist contractors to ensure that breakdowns are dealt with promptly and cost-effectively

To ensure that all planned maintenance and training documentation is kept up to date

To monitor logbooks and ensure all relevant entries are made and any necessary follow-up works are completed promptly

To ensure that store requisition and purchase request procedures are followed

To assist in keeping utility costs to a minimum by ensuring that all plant and equipment is operated at the optimum level for comfort and efficiency

To assist in operating the department within the constraints of the business plan or as directed by the Chief Engineer

To deputise for the shift engineers in case of sickness or holiday as directed by the Resident Engineer/Chief Engineer

To carry out any other reasonable request as directed by the Resident Engineer/Chief Engineer

To carry out engineering duties at the property as directed

About you: The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Able to work with tight deadlines and under pressure due to intensive preopening phase

Minimum of 3 years experience in a five-star hospitality environment in a related discipline

Experienced in computer-based planned preventative systems

Good communication skills

Team Player

Knowledge in FLS

Knowledge of high-rise building systems
