Accounts Assistant Apprenticeship position at Digi Broadcast Co Ltd At Digi Broadcast Co Ltd, we buy sell and rent new and used broadcast and professional, TV and Film Equipment. Our Account Assistant Apprentice will typically perform a variety of accounting tasks under the close supervision of senior accountants or financial managers. Apprenticeship Summary: Salary: £7 per annum, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds Working Week: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm Hours: 37.5 hours per week Expected duration: 17 months Online apprenticeship training supported by our skilled tutors Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification Location: Unit 15D, Oakcroft Road, Chessington, Surrey, KT9 1RH Duties Include: Creating Purchase orders and Proformas. Helping process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documentation. Assisting in maintaining records of amounts owed by customers (accounts receivable) and amounts the company owes (accounts payable). Ensuring timely processing of invoices and receipts from customers. Assisting in comparing bank statements with the company's records to ensure they match. Helping identify and resolve discrepancies. Assisting in preparing and submitting VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations. Helping with the preparation and processing of payroll. Ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Providing financial information to management as required. Ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date. Complying with legal and regulatory requirements. Liaising with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Working closely with other members of the finance team. Identifying opportunities for process improvements. Staying updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations. Skills and Experience: Strong numerical skills and accuracy with numbers (Grade 4/C+ in Maths and English - Essential) Level 2 Accounts qualification and/or experience in Accounts Meticulousness in handling financial data and documentation. Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Basic knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, ) is a plus. Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently. Capability to identify and solve discrepancies in financial records. Good verbal and written communication skills for liaising with team members and external stakeholders. Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively. Qualities: A strong desire to develop skills and knowledge in bookkeeping and accounting. Trustworthiness in handling sensitive financial information. Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Willingness to adapt to new tasks and changing environments. Proactive attitude and ability to work independently when necessary. Maintaining a professional demeanour in all interactions.
