The Director of Luxury Sales is an expert in their market, has strong and longstanding business relationships with travel advisors, influencers and decision makers in the leisure, VIP and entertainment segments.Job DescriptionWhy work for Fairmont Pacific Rim?Opportunity to develop your talent and grow within Fairmont Pacific Rim and across the world!A competitive salary, starting from $97,000.00 per annumEligible for bonuses and/or salary increases in accordance with company policyExtensive benefits package including health, paramedical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance for those meeting eligibility requirementsCompany-matched pension plan and ability to enroll in the Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan for those meeting eligibility requirementsComplimentary meal through our Colleague Dining ProgramExclusive access to the Pacific Northwest Food & Beverage Discount Program with 50% off at our dining destinations in Vancouver, Victoria, and WhistlerTravel reimbursement program for a TransLink monthly passComplimentary hotel stay for newly hired employees with breakfast for two through our BE OUR GUEST programWhat you will be doing:Development and oversight of the leisure, VIP & entertainment marketsBuilding and maintaining relationships with key travel agency partners such as American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts, Virtuoso Travel, Signature Travel, Chase Edit and othersOrganize and participate in appropriate sites, familiarization trips, sales calls, sales trips and industry trade shows to build and promote the hotel's reputationAchievement of sales activities and all objectives outlined in the annual marketing planExceed personal sales goals, monthly, quarterly, and annuallyProactively develop relationships with local partners and establish a reputation for the hotel within the communityDevelop lead sources and rapport with key regional personnel, Global Sales, industry partners and assigned client baseConduct rate negotiations within the established parametersPrepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as requiredMaintain active membership in industry-related organizations and associations pertaining to marketBe an active member of the Revenue Management team to determine strategies to optimize revenue opportunities and implement initiatives to drive revenueUtilize computer software applications to effectively track, solicit, book and follow up on accounts in a proactive mannerWork closely with Front Office, Reservations and other hotel departments to ensure delivery of hotel's promised servicesSupport and encourage a positive team approachImplement directives as outlined by the Regional Director of Sales & MarketingUphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all timesAdditional duties as requiredQualificationsYour experience and skills include:Minimum of five years hotel sales experience requiredBachelor's Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree preferredMultiple years of experience in a senior sales role in a luxury hotel environmentExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal requiredComputer literacy in various applications and tools including Opera Sales & Catering / SFA System (or other CMS), Microsoft Office, Cvent, LinkedInGoal oriented, competitive and well organizedStrong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, role model in pro-active salesAbility to analyze financial data to create winning group strategies and solutionsPositive attitude, firm and supportive, team-based approach to ensure attainment of the hotel's short and long-term goalsAbility to travel and work flexible hours and daysAdditional InformationYour team and working environment:Key Working Relationships: Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, Regional Revenue Management team, Director Communications, Director of Food & Beverage, Senior Hotel Leadership, Regional and Global Sales TeamsOur commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:We are an inclusive company and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
