Position Summary Mechanical Engineer is an expert in planning and execution of mechanical maintenance. The role is responsible to contribute to maintenance KPIs and execution planned maintenance on time and according to budget. It assures safety & legal compliance on maintenance works, drives “Run to standard” culture and assures the teams are working to it (Safety, Quality, CL, CILs, Preventive Maintenance, etc). This position contributes to the implementation of the Maintenance Roadmap based on the Site Strategy and drives behaviors to go back to basic standard condition also by defining basic standard conditions to technicians and production operators. Working Location: Vinda SEA HQ (Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, next to Setia Alam) You will play an essential role to:
- Is Role Model for Safety.
- Actively enforces safe working practices as per company safety policies and ensures works are done as per legal requirements.
- Point of expertise in developing the Maintenance Journey in his/her working area. Vision of Zero stops & Zero Breakdowns philosophy minimizes unplanned stops using the right maintenance strategies.
- Own the process of breakdown elimination (Root cause analysis / WI / SOP), the equipment performance analysis (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, BD Failure Rate% and is accountable for the mechanical maintenance execution of the production lines and its auxiliary equipment’s according to plan and within pre-defined duration.
- Analyzes & develops necessary maintenance skills in the team, has meetings to plan all maintenance related activities.
- Own, develop, and periodically reviews relevant documents and standards (e.g., PM Forms, WI’s, SOPs) for maintenance.
- Coaches Technicians and Operators on inspection, lubrication, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Reviews and give inputs for Skills & Capability needs of the maintenance team.
- Serve as the lead mechanical resource in all mechanical trouble-shooting activities in the manufacturing department, responsible to support shift technicians and line RST’s when required.
- Responsible for the effective utilization of the mechanical workshop and maintenance of workshop equipment.
- Any other task assigned by superior.
- Degree / Higher Diploma holder in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in as part of a maintenance department in an automated manufacturing environment, FMCG environment is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading a team of maintenance technicians
- ‘Hands-On’ experience in mechanical maintenance is critical as the job will require a very ‘hands-on’ approach
- Experience in maintenance of bearings, motors, fans, conveyors, cutting tools and pressing tools
- Knowledge about TPM and 5S principles
- Familiar with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
