Description: You as a Sr Commissioning Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation and commissioning of Telecom Systems for assignments classified as of low commissioning complexity. Managing completion of all commissioning activities efficiently and cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Your responsibilities:

  1. Proficient in handling Telecom SDH Multiplexers, PDH Multiplexer, Wireless Router or Bridges, Switches, Routers, PABX Systems, network management products.
  2. Working as a Telecom commissioning engineering PDH, SDH, Ethernet, MPLS-TP technologies with tendering team to understand end client’s specifications or practices related to telecommunication products and propose a technical solution meeting the requirements.
  3. Advising clients on maintenance and upgradation of existing installed base and giving presentations or trainings on new products, solutions to internal or external customers.
  4. Representing the commissioning function at project meetings and design review meetings.
  5. Implements commissioning design changes and the production of as built project documentation.
  6. Supports continuous improvement of project process and product and system design via provision of lessons learned feedback.
  7. Supporting Project Managers in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc.) and creating work plans and cost estimates for work in own area of responsibility and proactively manages this work to deliver the agreed program on time, on quality and at targeted cost.
  8. Coordinating site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance certification and acting as the Hitachi Energy lead for commissioning activities on a project.
  9. Ensuring that Hitachi Energy is presented as a professional organization in all interactions with the customer and managing external organizations providing commissioning with equipment, systems, or services (e.g. issues permit to work, provides guidance on health and safety requirements and work practices, accepts as complete work done).
  10. Coaching associate commissioning engineers and using agreed processes and procedures to ensure that all commissioning activities comply with the required safety regulations and satisfy contractual requirements.
  11. Preparing project documentation for SAT and obtaining approvals from utilities for commissioning activities of SAS Systems and knowledge of Hitachi Energy systems and the technical environment.
  12. Health and Safety that follow safety rules on construction sites according to regulations, proactive coordination and reporting to senior or principal commissioning engineer operationally and commissioning manager functionally and following Hitachi Energy HSE safety culture and practices.

Your background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronic and communication or telecommunication engineering is required. Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in telecommunication and hands-on experience of the product is preferred. Knowledge in FOX SDH, PDH, Ethernet products, Ethernet Technologies IP, Switching and routing, MPLS-TP, Voice Technologies, SIP, VOIP, Network Management Systems, IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850 and other legacy protocols used in Substation Automation Systems. Modern practices in Cyber Security, Hardware and software of an industrial network’s knowledge are required. Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
