These powerful tools enable scientists to easily create beautiful visualizations, easy-to-read posters for conferences, and informative slide show presentations all while giving and receiving feedback in real-time.We're looking for an Engineering Manager to guide the Editor team to deliver critical features. You're someone who is excited about web-based challenges and passionate about empowering engineers to do their best work. Your team will create an editor with all the editing capabilities (such as graphs, animation, 3D etc.) to equip scientists with the necessary tools to communicate science faster, which in turn will enable scientists to exponentially increase the rate of scientific advancements, cure terrible diseases, and tackle climate change.Example projects you'll lead:BioRender's Poster Builder tool where scientists can now design beautiful posters in minutesBuilding tooling to measure and monitor editor performance - this will enable us to detect critical issues before releasesCustom implementation of text with a canvas renderer to improve performance, deploy highly requested features (including lists), and improve the NPS of text-heavy files like postersYou will:Manage, support, and grow a team of 8+ engineers on the Editor team who are responsible for deploying all features to the canvas and surrounding UI in the editorCultivate a supportive and positive engineering culture where the team is empowered to do their best work and deliver the best graphics editor for scientists in the worldOwn the technical architecture of the editor and drive the strategy and priorities of editor related features all while advocating for a user-first approachCollaborate with internal stakeholders (leadership, Creative, CX, and Product teams) to become the point of contact for all things related to the editorPartner with the Product Manager to ensure that the team is using agile methodologiesSet the team up for success by working with engineers on their personal objectives and creating personal development plansOur ideal fit:Experience managing high performing product engineers and consistently delivering value to usersA track record of establishing processes or introducing tools that enable engineers to move more efficientlyHands-on experience in modern large-scale web applications development (React is a plus)Collaborating successfully with recruiting to build a remarkable A-player engineering teamWhy join us?We are mission-driven, and work collaboratively towards our shared vision of improving scientific communication and accelerating scientific discovery: BioRender figures have appeared in more than 16,000 publications!It's a product that users love!
