  • Hours - 0.55FTE (22 hours a week)
  • Shifts - Rostered shifts. Monday to Sunday. Morning, Afternoon and Nights
  • Location – Waikari Hospital. Waikari.
  • Salary - Starting from $60,100 to $70,358 per annum. Based on the NZNO Nursing

    and Midwifery collective agreement.

| About the role

Waikari Hospital is located in Waikari village, approximately one hour's drive north of Christchurch on State Highway 1 and inland from Waipara.

The hospital is set in beautiful grounds overlooking the Alps. Waikari Hospital meets the needs of the local community as well as covering a large rural district including continuing care of the elderly, general medical, surgical rehabilitation, carer support, respite care and palliative care. 

We have 10 beds and are a

team of Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Cooks, Activities

Coordinators and Maintenance/Gardeners.

In this

role, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting

    the Registered Nurse
  • Assisting

    in the kitchen to prepare meals
  • Assisting

    the patients with personal cares, activities
  • Helping

    to maintain a high standard of cleaning in the hospital.

  • Excellent

    communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well
  • Ability

    to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Has

    empathetic and caring nature
  • Good

    time management skills
  • Ideally

    experience as a Hospital Aide or similar
  • Previous

    food preparation experience is desirable.
