The RoleReporting to the Board of Trustees, this strategic yet hands on role involves leading a small, dedicated virtual team and cultivating a culture that embodies the charity’s values. You will develop, oversee, and implement a business plan that aligns with the strategic goals, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and within budget to drive growth. As a champion and representative of Bowel Cancer NZ, you will promote their mission, initiatives, and services in the media and the communities they support. Building relationships and engaging stakeholders are crucial aspects of this role, along with providing strong financial leadership to fulfil the charity’s mission and ensure its future sustainability.
This is a work from home role and ideally the successful candidate will be based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch. There will also be the requirement to work weekends from time to time to attend meetings or events. You will also receive a monthly home office allowance in addition to your salary.
Your Skills and ExperienceTo succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record in a strategic leadership role in the not-for-profit sector, ideally within health. Key skills you have will include:
- Strong leadership experience, managing remote teams is desirable
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to build effective relationships
- An understanding of NZ health sector and Government health policies and targets
- Awareness and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for Bowel Cancer NZ and the sector
- A background in improving outcomes for Māori & Pasifika
- Financial expertise managing budgets, understanding of audit requirements along with reporting and statutory requirements
- Experience dealing with media
