With the support of our united team, there is no limit to what you can imagine, create, and set in motion.What You'll Do Here:The Tax Analyst position is responsible for assisting the tax team with preparing the company's U.S. federal income tax returns, and tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740. The candidate will also research solutions to tax issues and assist with tax planning projects. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a world-class tax organization and to develop leadership skills while assuming greater responsibilities over time.ResponsibilitiesAssist in calculating and recording of the Company's quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, performing a detailed analysis of current and deferred federal taxes from both an income statement and balance sheet perspective.Prepare U.S. international income tax compliance for all foreign entities including potential centralization of international compliance and transfer pricing functions.Assist with inquiries related to withholding tax raised by the business and/or customers globally.Assist with tax planning implementation projects, as needed.Research technical tax issues and write related support memorandums.Assist in business planning, including calculation of estimated taxes and cash tax forecasts.Assist with the identification and implementation of tax department process improvements to ensure the accuracy and adequate documentation of all tax calculations, reports, and filings.Ensure the Company's tax files are well-organized, properly maintained and available to address audit examination issues.Develop a proficient understanding of tax compliance and financial reporting processes as well as Cengage's business and ethos.Develop a proficient understanding of financial reporting and tax technologies and how they interact with each other.Skills You Will Need HereBachelor's degree in accountingMasters in Tax or Accounting candidate, not required but preferred1 to 5 years of federal, and/or international income tax compliance and provision preparationExperience with OneSource tax compliance and tax provision software, preferredSelf-starter with strong communication and inter-personal skills; ability to communicate in an effective and respectful manner with peers and managementAbility to multitask, work well under pressure and successfully in a team environmentTakes initiative to learn and build new skills and knowledge while completing deliverables in a timely and accurate mannerAbility to assist with the management of tax filings and projects on a day-to-day basis and complete them within appropriate time periods with expected resultsMust be detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracyComputer skills include proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPointExperience with tax research and tax research software (RIA Checkpoint, CCH), preferred PRB
