Job Opportunity: Senior Investment Auditor (Technical)

Bring your transport engineering or planning skills to assess transport investment across the sector. This is an interesting and challenging role that provides an opportunity to make a real difference to the success of the transport network across New Zealand. Location: Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, or any other NZTA Waka Kotahi office. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Independently lead audits and coordinate groups required to perform audits to provide assurance over approved organisations (including local authorities, state highways, and partner agencies funded through the National Land Transport Fund).
  2. Promote leading practice and provide professional advice to organisations to ensure their processes and practices meet relevant standards and NZTA Waka Kotahi requirements.
About You: To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Proven experience in a field relevant to the position in the transport sector.
  • Demonstrated robust knowledge and application of engineering principles to transport infrastructure and networks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate technical subjects to non-technical audiences, along with high-level presentation, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to analyse multiple sources of data to draw evidence-based conclusions.
  • Knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.
  • Knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
