Here is some more information to help you decide if this opportunity is for you: You will: Report to the VP of Operations, overseeing all maintenance staff and activity across multiple sites in the Lower Mainland. The team are responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of all machinery, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning to meet production demands and keep downtime to minimum. Accelerate adoption of the computerized maintenance -management system. Budget for all maintenance activities and supplies Assist in strategic planning of plant and equipment layouts. Coordinate a variety of Factors Group projects taking into consideration municipal regulations, architectural, engineering and trades. Conduct inspections and follow up on orders by authorities such as Workers' Compensation Board (WSBC) and municipal government. Continuous improvement of First Time Quality (FTQ) components through process innovation and variation reduction, including control of material usage variances and evaluation of new materials, methods, and technologies. Ensure staff work to required levels set by WorkSafe BC and Factors Group Safety We are looking for someone with: A Bachelor of Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation disciplines. Red Seal trade designation with appropriate managerial experience would be considered equally strong candidates. 10 years' experience in plant engineering and maintenance operations, including a minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity. Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management software (CMMS). Candidates must have either implemented these systems or be subject matter experts with CMMS. Experience with tablet presses, encapsulation, packaging equipment, high pressure steam boilers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), speed controls, etc. Proficient in the use of ACAD computer-aided design software Experience with large scale production or facilities expansion projects would be an asset. Experience in purchasing and negotiating terms for manufacturing equipment. Experience in driving continuous improvement and process optimization. Experience with facilities operations, including fire safety plans and equipment, back flow preventers and mechanical systems. Experience with explosion-proof equipment and installation. Understanding of architectural, electrical, and mechanical blueprint drawings.
