ESTIMATION HEAD - CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

Main Tasks and Duties The role encompasses a broad range of tasks, each essential in the careful planning and execution of projects:

• Conducting detailed analysis of project specifications and drawings to accurately estimate costs associated with materials, labor, and equipment.
• Working cross-functionally with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather comprehensive details for precise estimation.
• Reviewing bids from subcontractors and vendors for conformity to project requirements and overall budgetary constraints.
• Implementing best practices in cost estimation and establishing protocols for regular updating and revising of estimates.
• Presenting, explaining, and justifying project estimates to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new technologies, and government regulations that could affect project costs.

Education and Certification Requirements To qualify for the position of Estimating Manager, candidates are generally required to possess the following educational background and certifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is typically essential.
• Advanced degrees or certifications in project management, cost management, or a specialized area of construction can be advantageous.
• Substantial experience in the field of estimating or a closely related area is often necessary, generally amounting to a minimum of five years.
• Certifications such as the Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) are highly recommended and can significantly enhance a candidate's prospects.
