Job Description

  1. Supervision and Coordination: Assist the Maintenance Manager in supervising maintenance staff and coordinating their work schedules and assignments.
  2. Maintenance Planning: Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop maintenance plans, schedules, and procedures to ensure effective equipment and facility operations.
  3. Repair and Troubleshooting: Oversee troubleshooting and repair activities for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  4. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during maintenance activities. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards.
  5. Budget Management: Assist in managing the maintenance budget by monitoring expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and maintaining accurate records.
  6. Inventory Control: Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment. Coordinate procurement and storage of necessary materials.
  7. Training and Development: Support the training and development of maintenance staff. Provide guidance and mentorship to enhance technical skills and performance.
  8. Emergency Response: Coordinate emergency response activities related to maintenance issues. Implement contingency plans to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.
  9. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on maintenance activities, including work orders completed, maintenance costs, and equipment performance.
  10. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services as needed. Ensure vendor compliance with contract terms and quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Experience: Proven experience in maintenance operations, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or assistant management role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Ability to motivate and develop a diverse team of maintenance technicians.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with employees, management, and external vendors.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work under pressure.
