Senior Business Analyst

You’ll play a critical role in driving the success of our projects, especially this one! It’s new and needs an experienced BA who is confident in their ability to build the product and get it to market. Your role:

As our BA, you’re an analyst first. You’ll dive into analysis and design, where your natural curiosity and knack for asking the right questions will shine. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, facilitate technical design meetings and ensure that what we build is spot-on. Documentation will be essential - you’ll create precise business requirement specifications, user guides and other essential documents to guide the team. You’ll also take ownership of the backlog, ensuring work items are well-defined, prioritized and completed on time. Communication is crucial in this role, as you’ll be the link between teams, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

You’ll work closely with QA and Devs, effectively sourcing information and using agile and scrum principles to drive your project. This is a remote environment, so self-management and ownership are crucial. Not to worry, Azure DevOps will help you stay on track and communicate progress when you cannot. The tools you use for diagramming and modeling are up to you, as long as you can visually represent requirements and systems.

A few things to know:

• Location: This is a remote role, but you must be based in Cape Town . There will be in-person meetings and workshops during the kickoff stages, but this won’t be forever.
• Technical skills: While we’re in a technical environment, what’s more important is your ability to actively participate in discussions about integrations, APIs, web services and databases. Knowing your way around SQL will be helpful for scripting and querying data.
• Hiring process: You’ll meet with the BA Team Lead, interview with the technical team and complete a written assessment.
• Experience: Previous exposure to the FMCG environment would be a big plus.
