We are looking for an Obsolescence Architect who will be responsible for leading the Lifecycle management Planning activities for the Desktop service supported by Sopra Steria. A key focus of this role will be to maintain a coherent set of Desktop Roadmaps and ensure their alignment with the Authorities strategic direction.You will maintain key relationships with the technical leadership community. Infrastructure Engineering Technical Directors, the IT Services Innovation Lead and various System Design Authorities. This is an office-based role, 5 days per week on-site in either our Bristol or Newcastle locations. What you will be doing:

  • Responsibility for Obsolescence Service deliverables and meeting SLA/KPIs.
  • Providing Option analysis for proposed changes triggered by obsolescence.
  • Obsolescence identification and radar management.
  • Horizon scanning for potential change and highlighting via the approved routes.
  • Ensure the Obsolescence Service alignment with strategic direction specified by the Authority.
  • Represent the Supplier in technical forums alongside Authority technical leadership and other technology suppliers across the Authority as required.
  • Attend and contribute to Client Board meetings.

  • Awareness of IEC 62402:2019
  • Life Cycle management of Hardware and Software products across a complex enterprise environment
  • Solution Architect experience
  • Roadmap creation and ongoing management
  • Broad understanding of on-premise technologies
  • User Centric approach
  • Understanding of Agile delivery methods
  • Senior stakeholder management
  • Understand MOD policies and industry best practices for protecting secure environments and environments in a disconnected state.
