The role We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer - Contracts and Claims to join our team for a major Hydropower project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. This role is vital for ensuring that all contractual matters are effectively managed and that claims are handled promptly and efficiently throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management and claims administration, particularly within hydropower projects.

• Review of costing and scheduling undertaken for each contract.
• Review of annual operation and maintenance costs.
• Review of sensitivity analyses with respect to construction, foreign exchange, and other risks and costs.
• Attend tender evaluation and pre-award discussions.
• Monitoring progress and comparison with schedules, highlighting issues and recommending remedial measures.
• Evaluate and manage claims related to contract changes, delays, and cost adjustments.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work. Minimum Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (e.g., B.Sc/BE in Civil Engineering).
• Minimum experience of at least 15 years in contract management of construction projects.
• At least 8 years of specific experience handling contracts/claims of dams/hydropower projects.
• Internationally recognized or recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) or Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
• Demonstrated expertise in handling complex claims, disputes, and contract negotiations.
• In-depth knowledge of contract law and project management.
• Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
