Logistics Officer - RA International

The Role We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Logistics Officer to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics operations, preferably in a similar supervisory role. Key qualifications include a strong understanding of logistics principles, practices, and regulations, proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems, and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with keen attention to detail and accuracy, are essential for success in this role. Job Responsibilities:

1. Plan and manage all daily freight-related requests.
2. Work with carriers and freight forwarders to achieve cost-effective solutions for local and international logistics movement.
3. Build strong relationships with logistics suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and high service levels.
4. Obtain freight quotations and issue purchase orders in line with approved quotations and prior to service engagement.
5. Control logistics costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and initiate strategies to reduce expenses without compromising service quality.
6. Conduct comparisons and analysis of freight costs between multiple forwarders.
7. Generate monthly logistics reports and submit them to the logistics manager.
8. Maintain necessary documentation and records related to shipping, receiving, and storage.
9. Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
10. Stay informed about changes in legislation affecting logistics and adjust processes accordingly.
11. Respond to and resolve logistics issues in a timely manner.
12. Develop and implement practical solutions for logistics challenges, ensuring minimal impact on operations and service.
13. Conduct yearly supplier evaluations and compile related reports within specified deadlines.
14. Utilize logistics IT systems to optimize procedures, track shipments, and manage data.
15. Work closely with procurement and warehousing teams to optimize supply chain operations.
16. Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure alignment of logistics with overall business goals.
17. Communicate effectively with management and provide timely updates.
18. Be willing to learn and adapt to new practices and procedures.
19. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all logistics activities.

Requirements Qualifications: Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Experience in logistics operations with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and regulations, logistics software, and ERP. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work. Communication skills both verbal and written. Any additional certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
