Job details

About the Company We are a Space Safety and Logistics Company, using technology to save the Trillion $ Space industry from Debris Pollution in Space. We believe that the problems of Earth can be solved using Space. However, the rapid increase in the number of satellites is also increasing the risk of satellite collision, leading to Debris pollution- making space a dangerous place for other satellites as well as astronauts. To prevent this, we are developing an Agile, Safe, Efficient and Affordable Green Propulsion System with a new fuel, engine and catalyst for the engine to avoid satellite collision in space and prevent Debris Pollution, which can hence be a potential green alternative to the current monopropellant propulsion technology. About the Role As a Metallurgical Engineer at Manastu Space, you will develop and optimize high-temperature coatings for aerospace nozzles, ensuring durability and performance under extreme conditions. You will conduct experiments, utilize advanced characterization techniques, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate these coatings into the production process. Additionally, you will stay updated on advancements in materials science and document your research findings comprehensively. Responsibilities

  • Performing research projects focused on the development and optimization of high-temperature coatings for aerospace nozzles.
  • Conduct literature reviews and stay updated on the latest advancements in high-temperature coatings and materials science.
  • Develop new coating formulations and processes to enhance the performance and durability of nozzles under extreme conditions.
  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate the properties and performance of various high-temperature coatings.
  • Characterize coatings using techniques such as SEM, EDS, TEM, XRD, and other relevant analytical methods.
  • Perform high-temperature oxidation tests and other relevant testing to assess coating effectiveness.
  • Analyse the composition, phase analysis, and thickness of coatings on nozzle samples.
  • Evaluate coating adhesion, hardness, and resistance to thermal cycling and mechanical stresses.
  • Optimize coating application processes to ensure uniformity and precision within tight tolerances.
  • Develop and refine methods for coating application that do not compromise the dimensions and performance of nozzles.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and testing teams to integrate coatings into the nozzle production process.
  • Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and research institutions to leverage expertise and resources.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate research findings and project progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, results, and data analysis.
Qualifications Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field. Proven experience in high-temperature coatings, preferably in the aerospace or related industries. Required Skills Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of materials characterization techniques and analytical methods.
  • Hands-on experience with coating processes such as aluminization, PVD, CVD, or thermal spraying.
  • Familiarity with high-temperature oxidation, thermal cycling, and mechanical testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical and statistical analysis for data interpretation and experimentation.
  • Familiarity with software tools like XpertHighScore, Origin, Full Prof, and ImageJ.
Other Skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly and collaborate with team members.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques, adapt to changing project requirements, and work in diverse environments.
