Position: Lead Discipline Engineer - Package Equipment Years of Experience: 10 Job Category: Engineering Job Location: UAE - Abu Dhabi Employment Status: Full Time Employment Type: Long Term Senior Staff Candidate Gender: No Preference Education: Bachelors Preference: All Nationality Job Description PURPOSE & SCOPE: Jobs at this level are responsible for checking, reviewing, and issuance of all engineering deliverables in a timely manner within the budget. The jobholders at this position are required to ensure the quality of all deliverables and adherence to company quality plans and job specifications/guidelines. Responsibilities include planning, allocating tasks for the Engineering and Drafting teams, co-ordination of activities, attending meetings with Client/PMT/Yard, and preparation and checking of all project documentation. The engineers at this position may need to go for onshore/offshore site surveys. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for independently handling medium to large size EPC projects.
  2. Ensuring adherence to company procedures, client specifications, guidelines, international codes, and standards.
  3. Review of enquiry documentation from client together with Scope of Work to understand requirements, raising queries where there is a lack of clarity.
  4. Interface with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.
  5. Ensuring technical accuracy and quality of all discipline deliverables during all phases of the allotted project, i.e., basic, detailed, and construction engineering.
  6. Prepare man-hour estimates for engineering deliverables at the estimation stage.
  7. Prepare system design philosophy and specifications. Perform detailed design of HVAC system including Ducting & Instrumentation Diagram, Piping & Instrumentation Diagram, HVAC Heat load calculations, Duct/pipe pressure loss calculations, equipment sizing, duct/pipe sizing, etc.
  8. Responsible for Inter Discipline Checking activities, i.e., issuance, review, and approval.
  9. Coordinate with the Drafting Office Co-ordinator for the checking and issuing of HVAC detailed drawings and shop drawings.
  10. Prepare purchase requisitions for HVAC equipment and specify inspection/test and vendor data requirements.
  11. Undertake technical evaluations of vendor/subcontractor proposals.
Skills Required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  1. B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical).
  2. 10 years of HVAC system design experience in the oil and gas industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a Lead Engineer role.
  3. Knowledge of Carrier E20-II software.
  4. Good command of written and spoken English.
  5. Conversant with international design/engineering codes and standards.
  6. Good communication skills.
