We are currently looking for a talented and experienced Civil Team Leader or Manager to lead and develop our established Civil discipline in Auckland. If you enjoy the challenge of managing and delivering on land development design and infrastructure projects, leading and mentoring, whilst contributing to the financial success of a business, then we want to hear from you. About the role As our Civil Team Leader/Manager, you will lead the delivery of projects, overseeing the technical delivery for the team, responsible for supervising preparation of detailed design and documentation for subdivisions, roading, earthworks, drainage, and storm water design across residential, commercial, and industrial developments. Monitoring and reporting on the progress of project delivery and technical development within the team. Working closely with our established clients, managing our growing key clients in the region and nationally, ensuring we deliver cost-effective and high-quality design.

  • Lead the Civil team of Engineers and Technicians. Creating a high-performance focused culture through personal leadership, teamwork, coaching, and mentoring of individuals.
  • Leading project planning and design phases, ensuring innovative and efficient civil engineering solutions are applied.
  • Maintain and further develop own client base achieving sustainable business growth.
  • Fostering enduring relationships with clients and partners, maintaining strong working relationships with all clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Manage all size projects, technical documentation, project scheduling, and meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of overall company strategies and regional business plan.

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent, with 10-15 years+ professional experience as a Civil Engineer working in New Zealand; with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • CPEng qualified is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, empathy for others, sociable and friendly, with a positive drive and resilience.
  • Strong leadership skills, coaching team members, being a role model for promoting high work standards to deliver high quality client projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience designing and detailing civil engineering projects in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Conversant with NZ Building codes and statutory requirements. Design compliant with NZTA, NZBC and relative standards requirements.
  • An innovative thinker, always looking for ways to improve processes and designs for optimal outcomes.
  • A high level of commercial awareness and financial competency.
