Job Description
We are seeking Head of Engineering to lead the development of control stacks for quantum computers and quantum networks. As a deep tech scaleup company, their mission is to accelerate the global race towards practical quantum computers and quantum networks. This role is instrumental in overcoming critical challenges in this field, including improving the quality of quantum bits (qubits) and operations, scaling up the number of qubits, and implementing algorithms with quantum error correction and error mitigation strategies.
As the Head of Engineering, you will:
Lead teams of (embedded) software, electrical, FPGA, and quantum engineers (approximately 40 FTEs, with rapid growth expectations).
Define, implement, document, and manage engineering processes across teams to facilitate the company's continued expansion.
Participate in defining the company's strategy and roadmap.
Manage engineering projects end-to-end, including resource and timeline planning.
Prepare and oversee the engineering department's budget.
Recruit top-tier engineers globally and coordinate their training to enhance their capabilities. Report directly to the CTO.
Your Profile:
Previous experience as a Head of Engineering or in a similar senior-level position within an engineering department.
Extensive experience in high-speed, mixed-signal (RF) electronics engineering (RF, analog signals, FPGA)
Strong understanding of agile methodologies.
Exceptional leadership abilities with a strategic mindset.
Excellent project management skills.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
