Responsibilities:Designing,maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments,facilities, components, equipment products, or systems forindustrial, commercial, or domesticpurposes.Performing a wide range ofengineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design orengineering software and equipment.Conferringwith customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing orpotential engineering products orprojects.Ensuring that installation andoperations conform to standards and customer requirements bypreparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, ortopographical maps.Establishing construction,manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications byperforming a wide range of detailedcalculations.Ensuring compliance withspecifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing orcoordinating installation, manufacturing, construction,maintenance, documentation, support, or testingactivities.Writing reports and compiling dataregarding existing and potential electrical engineering projectsand studies.Preparing specifications forpurchases of electrical equipment andmaterials.Supervising or training project teammembers.Estimating material, labor, orconstruction costs for budgetpreparation.Maintaining electricalequipment.Working with a variety oftechnicians.
