The company is a successful, well-financed, progressive organization that is regarded as one of the best companies in the paper industry.ANC is currently recruiting for the role of TMP Shift Utility Operator in the Pulping & Utilities Department. This position is in our Operations Department and is directly involved in the operation of the following processes: Raw water treatment, effluent treatment, chemical handling systems, water softeners/RO unit, power boilers (1st Class Plant), pressure vessels and associated equipment, thermomechanical refining equipment, chip handling equipment and a 63MW power plant. The candidate must be willing and able to advance to more senior positions in the line of progression. At times, this is a physically demanding role that includes working in extreme high and low temperatures, and at heights. The TMP Shift Utility Operator also provides relief to the Paper Machine Utility position as required.Reporting to the Shift Lead, this role allows an individual to work as part of a team on a continuous shift rotation (12-hour shifts, both days/nights). It is expected that this role be available for call-ins and overtime, as required. We are looking for a safety-focused, self-driven individual with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Trades tickets (Electrician, Millwright, etc.) are considered valuable assets. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESParticipates on Team that provides fire and emergency response servicesCollecting and analyzing process and boiler water samples in a laboratoryForklift operationUnloading/handling chemicalsMonitoring and operating process equipmentIsolating and locking out equipmentPerforming minor maintenance work on equipmentOther duties, as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent) is required.A valid Driver's License with your own transportation is required. The mill is located outside of Whitecourt thus you must be able to commute.Previous industrial manufacturing experience is a definite asset.3 rd Class Power Engineering Certificate is ideal. Candidates with a 4 th Class Power Engineering Certificate and working towards their 3 rd Class Certificate, coupled with relevant industrial experience, may be considered for this position.Having a trades ticket (Electrician, Millwright, etc.) is a strong asset. Must have a safety-focused mindset and strong knowledge of safe work practices.Have a sense of responsibility, accountability, and ownership of your work. Be a self-starter and self-motivated to complete tasks and meet deadlines.Demonstrate effective communication with a variety of personalities and roles.Basic computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. The base pay rate for this position is $88,995.12 per year. Within two years, you could earn up to $98,482.32 per year.You must be located in or willing to relocate to Whitecourt, AB if chosen as the successful applicant.
