Senior Engineer - Piping Stress

CORE FUNCTIONSA typical week would include:Working with the project team to develop cost-effective, efficient and innovative solutions to complex problems to create practical designs based on these solutions;Working on projects in a variety of stages of maturity, including Feasibility Studies, Concept Designs, FEED Studies, Value Engineering and Detailed Design. There will be opportunities for site work during project development, construction and commissioning;Preparation of Piping deliverables such as wall thickness calculations, piping specifications, datasheets for valves, expansion joints, and other piping components;Undertaking detailed piping stress analysis;Working closely with process engineers in development of process flow diagrams and piping & instrumentation diagrams;Supporting development of plant layouts and plant 3D models;Provide engineering advice and technical solutions in relation to plant integrity issues on operational assets;Developing proposals and bids for the piping and layout discipline and contributing to multi-disciplinary proposals;Provide technical leadership and governance; andCoach and mentor junior staff to develop their expertise and knowledge We'd love to hear from you if you have:A Degree in a relevant Engineering subject;Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/Ceng and a member of relevant Engineering Institute (preferred);Significant work experience within Power Generation, Process or Oil & Gas industry;The ability and desire to assume a lead role in the development of piping engineering deliverables;Knowledge of national and international codes and standards used within the industry covering design and manufacturing requirements of plant equipment and piping;Experience of carrying out piping design and stress analysis;Experience of working in a multidiscipline team on plant 3D models;Proven understanding of the design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief / scope documents, design concepts as well as experienced in producing calculations;Experience of thermal plant operational and integrity issue troubleshooting and problem solving;Proficient in the use of Caesar II stress analysis software;Be familiar with the Autodesk suite of products, specifically; AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks and BIM360;Must be proficient in the use MS Office suite of products to create technical reports, specifications; schedules and calculations.
