You must have the capacity to lead a team, exercise sound judgment, have excellent writing abilities, and pay close attention to detail in order to be successful as our Managing Editor.A managing editor combines the innovativeness of a writer with the practical focus of an operations manager. You should be able to suggest ideas for stories and see them through to publication. We expect excellent organizational and leaderships skills as well as a unique problem-solving ability.Key Responsibilities: Reviewing the performance of Editors/Copy Editors, offering feedback,and presenting progress updates. Serving as the quality control representative for the journal, ensuringalignment with established style guidelines. Verifying factual accuracy when required and discussing any concernswith the Managing Editor. Highlighting potential issues related to plagiarism, animal ethics, patientconsent, and the manipulation of figures. Conducting individual sessions with team members to offer guidance,ensuring they receive proper training, mentoring, and coaching. Performing initial and subsequent edits on articles, and evaluatingauthors' responses to edits and editorial feedback.This role is brand new and is an excellent opportunity for an experiencedjournal editor ready to lead a dedicated team.The ideal candidate will possess: A biomedical science degree and at least one year of editing experience- Mandatory Demonstrated expertise in delivering top-tier language and copy edits,along with a thorough understanding of journal standards and protocols. Leadership qualities with the drive to inspire and guide a team. Capability to uphold top-notch standards while adhering to deadlines. Proficiency in IT, coupled with exceptional communication abilities.For more information about this exciting position, kindly send over your CValong with your salary expectations.
