Our Client is looking for an Electrical Site Engineer - PV. To oversee and manage the electrical infrastructure within the substation, including the interconnection with the PV system, to ensure the safe and reliable distribution of electrical power. Internally you will be dealing with Project, Construction, HSSE, Quality Team Etc. and externally with Client, Regulatory Authorities, Subcontractor and Suppliers etc.Requirements:Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering 5 years of Experience with substation primary plantKnowledge of safety protocols specific to electrical systems Familiarity with national and local Escom electrical codes and standardsResponsibilities:Develop detailed electrical designs and specifications for the substation, including switchgear, transformers, and interconnection equipment, adhering to industry standards and local regulations.Enforce electrical safety protocols and standards to protect workers during construction and ensure the safety of the substation.Implement quality control measures to ensure that the electrical infrastructure within the substation is constructed correctly and operates as designed.Supervise the installation of PV system and the electrical grid necessary for the substation, ensuring proper sizing, grounding, and load distribution.Oversee the procurement of electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and control systems.Coordinate the testing and commissioning of substation equipment and systems to verify their proper functionality, including protection schemes and control systems.Develop and implement protection schemes for the substation, including fault detection and isolation to safeguard the PV system and the electrical grid.Maintain comprehensive records of electrical documentation, including drawings, technical reports, as-built drawings, and equipment manuals.
