PepsiCo's product portfolio includes a wide range of enjoyable foods and beverages, including many iconic brands that generate more than $1 billion each in estimated annual retail sales.  Responsibilities What we're looking for: Capability program lead will fulfill a leadership and subject matter expert role in enabling, establishing and driving the differentiated PepsiCo Bakeries Knowledge Management System/ Capability program focusing on process, product and ingredients. Must create and execute a level-appropriate, outcomes-based and practical program and processes to equip front-line staff, supervisors and managers with critical plant baking expertise which drives quality, efficiency and continuous improvement. Role will initially develop standards and product specifications for the operations team to follow and execute to achieve PepsiCo design. Long term role will transfer and expand the expertise into the Bakery facilities creating a larger network of product experts. Partnering with HR Capability specialists and Supply Chain stakeholders in the development of level-appropriate capability program (Knowledge management system) by integrating learnings from multiple sources to develop cutting edge content to support the company strategic objectives across the bakeries. Contribute to crafting prioritized technical capability efforts, from a product and process perspective to establish PepsiCo aligned structures and expertise across sites to ensure capability delivery (Site expert and trainers, Specialists, BU expert and trainers) long term capability strategy Execute capability program against strategic priorities through own contributions and by leveraging resources to deliver the necessary training and assessments, including but not limited to: Training providers, R&D, SC Technical, SC QC, Suppliers (equipment/ingredients) Monitor and measure impact by conducting critical people capability, process and equipment assessments which focus on improved quality and efficiencies. Leverage external and internal experts to remain at the cutting edge of industrial bread baking developments and investigate and apply new technology to provide a competitive advantage across ingredient, process and product. Drive bakery ingredient, process and product improvement projects from initiation to execution within agreed timeline and budget and lead development for quality/product improvement initiatives Researching latest technologies, comparing supply cost vs performance and formulations/ continuously improving to meet quality and cost targets. Investigate and apply new technology to provide a competitive advantage by utilizing scientific methods to develop knowledge that creates business opportunities that support the company's strategic objectives across all bakeries. Lead creation of end-to-end product development technical solutions by working closely with bakery technical team to troubleshoot and resolve quality and performance issues related to ingredient, process and product. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal (Sales, Marketing, Operations) and external partners (vendors, contractors, universities) to explore potential technologies for ingredient, process & product improvements as the needs of the project dictate. Be the Bakery Subject Matter Expert for the various cross-functional teams, continuously building their expertise by establishing standard processes and key performance indicators. Qualifications What will qualify you for the role : Food science or Food technology degree Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into strategic and tactical project goals and objectives. Proven ability to make significant technical scientific advances utilizing internal and/or external resources. Proven ability to manage multiple assignments/ tasks. Cross-functional experience a plus Demonstrated understanding of how to incorporate business needs into technical decisions. Affinity, passion and ability to develop training material and programs and deliver such training. In-depth understanding of core and emerging functional ingredients, formulations and application technologies and processes in Baking Industry In-depth understanding of the wheat to bread value chain In-depth knowledge and understanding of wheat and flour properties.
