Job Purpose:The primary goal of this position is to lead the Soft Cheese, Butter and Cream production teams to achieve production targets, quality outputs, and KPI's, while maintaining a safe and efficient operation and producing products to the required quality standards. Manage the process flow of production from raw to finished packed product. Reporting to:  Production Manager / Plant Manager Minimum Requirements:Matric/ Grade12 2 + years' experience as Team Leader / Production Coordinator in Dairy processing5 + years' experience in production in FMCG Dairy industryRelevant regulations / standards / industry knowledge (Highly Advantageous) Main Responsibility:Quality:Drive housekeeping, efficiency, cost control, quality, waste and safety standards in the PlantUnderstand and follow lean manufacturing, FSSC, GMP, various audit requirements and world class manufacturing practices.Daily Communication withH&S Officer for Safety issuesQuality Control for Quality issuesMaintenance for Maintenance issuesStores for Raw Material requirementsResponsible for ensuring compliance to Quality policies and procedures Health and Safety:Enforce adherence to safety regulations in the plant to achieve safe working environment.Report and highlight potential safety related issues to relevant parties.Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment measures (safety guards, PPE, waste disposal etc.).Assist in accidents and incidents investigation Manage Operational Efficiency:Set and/or drive OEE daily and monthly targets and ensure all lines are running optimallyAddress inefficiencies and find appropriate solutionsEnsure that all job cards and defects needing attention are recorded and reported timeouslyEnsure traceability practices are recorded and carried out daily People Performance and Development:Ensure disciplinary issues relating to performance, quality, staff attendance, timekeeping, overtime, and absenteeism are managedCommunicate clear Objectives for to all teamsEnsure training given to employees as required Continuous Improvement:Identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement within the procurement functionImplementing best practices, leveraging technology, and driving efficiency across the procurement process Key Skills and Competencies:Proven work experience as a Team Leader / CordinatorAdequate knowledge of management principles (budgeting, planning, resource allocation and human resources)Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertiseBe knowledgeable of safety, quality, food safety, productivity, inventory processes, production schedulingStrong leadership, team development and people management skillsStrong communication skillsComputer Literacy in MS Office, with Intermediate Excel
