Description We're looking for our Big Brother, someone to keep a beady eye on anything and everything to do with the operations, profitability, and management of our client's renewable energy assets. Our client's portfolio boasts over 1000MW of both operational and planned renewable energy projects across Africa. They are looking for a competent Asset Manager to join their team in Port Elizabeth. If you have a bachelor's degree in an engineering field, 5+ years of professional experience managing a power plant , and 4+ years of experience in asset management in the renewable energy industry, you might just be exactly who we are looking for. Education Requirements Bachelors degree in relevant engineering field Experience Requirements 5+ years professional experience managing a power plant 4+ years of experience in asset management in the renewable energy industry Responsibilities The Asset Manager, you would oversee the operations and profitability of assigned renewable energy assets. This includes ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance, monitoring performance, managing operations and maintenance, overseeing insurance, and monitoring revenue. You would optimise all aspects of the asset based on the appropriate risk profile, provide technical and commercial reporting to investors and stakeholders, and participate in internal review processes. Occasional site inspections, ensuring compliance with permits and standards, monitoring and reporting findings and non-conformances, and tracking plant performance KPIs would also fall within your realm or responsibility. You would be on call for system events, interface with the grid operator, and ensure plant operating and maintenance standards are met. Contract management of main project contracts, including PPA, IA, SAA, DCUOSA, etc., to ensure legal compliance is crucial. Representing the company's interest at the project level, including participation in budgeting processes and managing budgets and costs, is also part of the role. Managers and supervisors carry legal and company responsibilities for health and safety, ensuring risk assessments are conducted and mitigation measures are communicated.
