Biocon Biologics believes that strong partnerships offer enormous opportunities to co-create the future of healthcare, building a patient ecosystem beyond the product, which can transform millions of lives.About the Role:As the Lead of Global Supply Chain Planning you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of our supply chain operations across multiple geographies. You will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive supply chain strategies, driving optimization, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of our life-saving products. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and an understanding of biologics manufacturing processes.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning: Develop and implement global supply planning strategies aligned with business objectives and market demand forecasts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with sales, marketing, and production goals.Inventory Optimization: Develop inventory management policies and procedures to optimize inventory levels while balancing service levels, working capital, and supply chain costs. Implement inventory control mechanisms to minimize obsolescence and write-offs.Supply Chain Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the global supply chain network. Implement best practices, leverage technology solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and responsiveness.Risk Management: Proactively identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to product supply. Monitor market dynamics, geopolitical factors, regulatory changes, and other external variables that may impact supply chain operations.Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and quality assurance teams. Collaborate closely with commercial teams to understand market dynamics and customer requirements.Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supply planning performance and drive accountability. Provide regular performance updates and insights to senior leadership, highlighting areas for improvement and opportunities for optimization.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable.Extensive experience (8+ years) in supply chain planning, preferably in the biologics, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry with overall experience 17+ years.Proven track record of successfully leading global supply chain planning operations, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and capacity planning.Strong knowledge of biologics manufacturing processes, including upstream and downstream operations, cold chain logistics, and regulatory requirements.Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and manage complex supply chain scenarios.Proficiency in supply chain planning tools and systems (e.g., ERP, MRP, APS), as well as advanced proficiency in SAP IBP, Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools (e.g. MS PowerBI or similar tool).Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence at all levels of the organization.Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a continuous improvement focus and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Professional certifications such as APICS (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or SCOR-P are a plus.
